This is the current schedule of winter talks for ABKA members. All will take place at the Riddlesden Institute at 2pm on Saturday afternoons.
Talks are free for ABKA members with the exception of the Split Board workshop where there will be a small charge made for materials.
Do come along if you can – tea, coffee and biscuits/cake are free!
25 January 2020 A talk by Peter Hewitt, our most senior member. Peter has been beekeeping for over 70 years! His talk is entitled ‘Bee Boles and More.’
22 February 2020 Split Board Workshop with Richard Law and David Wilkinson.
As pre-cut materials will be provided, this session will involve a charge of £7 to cover the cost of the board you will make. Please contact Richard by the end of December if you wish to attend so we cn manage numbers. Email email@example.com – Richard can also explain what a split board is used for if you don’t know!
21 March 2020 Regional bee inspector, John Zamorski, will talk about his beekeeping career and the role of the National Bee Unit – you will be surprised by some of the situations he encounters in that role! A Q&A session will follow.
25 April 2020 Steam wax extraction with Keith Hebden. Plus another topic TBC.
